Running was always considered a very safe sport. Typically you do not hear that the runners involved in an accident. There is the occasional runner / biker conflict or even the runners who are hit by a car. However, these events are not common.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced runner, you should be smart and remember the basic rules of safe operation:

Try to avoid running alone at night or early morning before lightoutside. If the only time you can do, then wear a headlamp, and run in an area where there will be people around.

Run with a partner, if possible. This is especially good if you are on a long run in an area where there are not many people.

Wear reflective gear and / or bright colors, so you can easily see motorcyclists, other people on the road, or cars (if you share the road with motor vehicles). If you run into an area where there are regularHunting seasons, it would be advisable to wear an orange vest.

Run facing traffic. If you are running on roads with cars, watch out for passing cars and be ready to jump out of the way, if a car comes through in your path.

Run in familiar areas. This is important, especially if you are away. Be aware of vehicles or persons who may be after you. Try to stay away from isolated dead-end streets.

Vary your routine. Many of you have probably runat the same time every day - I know I do. If you have a scheduled maturity, vary the route. South for a few days go by, then to the north - all to smash your regular, predictable pattern.

Tell someone route. This is not always possible, but it is more important on a long run than the short term. It is also helpful if someone needs to find you. You can use a notepad Keep On Your frig with the date, mileage, and the direction you walk.

Chances are you do not run into any problems while you are on a run. However, like other things in your life, it's a good idea, for whatever may occur will be prepared.
